Price is determined more by the time and the medium involved than the actual size.

Generally, the more elaborate the composition, number of figures, patterns on clothing, backgrounds etc., the longer the picture takes to produce.

Simplifications could reduce the cost and tend to make for a more "artistic" final portrait.

Pictures are supplied without frames.
